Someone asked me when is the best time to visit New Orleans when it’s not a holiday. My opinion is August since it’s restaurant month. It’s called Coolinary. The first week of September is restaurant week and an extension of Coolinary. What’s so great about this month is that some of the finest dining in New Orleans allows you to eat 3-4 course meals for like $39. Recently I dined at Fogo de Chao under the Coolinary menu. Other restaurants I’ve enjoyed in the past via Coolinary include Muriel’s, Commander’s Palace, Boucherie, Domenica, Katie’s, Luke, Sobou, Legacy Kitchen, The Melting Pot, Morton’s, Oceana Grill, Pascal’s Manale, The Pelican Club, Superior Seafood, and Zea’s. My plan is to go somewhere new every week. I can’t wait to see where this takes me!
