I’m just a 37year old Naturalista with a loveable furbaby named Kingston trying to live life to the fullest, get this money and be the best child of God that I can be. I was born and raised in the New Orleans metropolitan area. I like to think of Chicago as my second home after spending some time living there.
DrSunshine504- I refer to myself as doctor for obvious reasons but “Sunshine” comes from a friend of mine that would always say I was always such a ray of sunshine because I knew how to say things to brighten up someone’s day. A few other folks in my life called me it at times and it just kind of stuck as a great social media moniker for me. What’s crazy is that one day I was jogging/walking in the park and someone screamed out there window, “Dr. Sunshiiiiiiine”, and I had to laugh because not only did it have a nice ring to it but I truly doubt they could remember or pronounce my real name correctly. Where does 504 come from? It’s so New Orleans to represent that 5-0-4 area code. So there you have it.
As my Twitter profile describes me, I’m “a sister. an aunt. a student. a dreamer. a believer. a friend. a lover of love and life. an optometrist. a child of God. your sister in Christ.” I like to think of myself as “a person who walks into a room unnoticed”. While I may strongly feel that way, I think life and my magnetic attraction of people has taught me otherwise. I’ve got a bubbly personality. I love to joke, and I just want a happy medium between the “finer things” in life and the simple things that keep me smiling and laughing. Since graduation, I’ve moved back to the New Orleans area to try figure out this thing we call life. At this time I’m faced with a new sense of freedom but a sometimes uneasy feeling of the unknown areas of life to come. But with God all things are possible and I’m not walking alone. I pray to one day be a mother and a wife, but in the mean time I pray to learn to handle life’s battles a little better, pray a little harder, love a little deeper, be a little warmer towards others and move a little closer to God.
While still getting used to this new chapter of my life, I have been redefining myself and what makes me unique and fun. I love to shop, cook, eat, blog, learn and try new things and hang out. This blog is my breather from the professional persona I have to wear daily, and my way of having my say and sharing with the world the things that make me beautifully and simply me. š
