Oceana Grill

About 2 weeks ago a friend an I went to Oceana Grill located downtown in New Orleans on the corner of Conti and Boubon. One the way to the restaurant the most hilarious thing happened… A guy serenaded me down the sidewalk. It was both awkward and hilarious at the same time. He then proceeded to let me know that he accepts monetary donations. It was definitely one of those “you shoulda Ben there moments”.

Oceana Grill has the typical French Quarter restaurant feel. There is a beautiful courtyard and the main restaurant doors are open for web a pigeon to come join you as you done.

We started off with BBQ shrimp which was great. I ordered the blackened duck with seafood sauce, veggie mix and jambalaya. My friend ordered the crab cakes which also was accompanied by a veggie mix.

Of course we topped it off with dessert. I had the banana foster ice cream cake which was heavenly, an she had the crème brûlée.

Overall the experience was great. I don’t know that I’d ever go there again but it definitely seems like a great place to bring an out-of-town guest or a tourist.
